Blessed Virgin Mary, according to the beliefs of the Christians was the mother of Jesus Christ and wife of Joseph. Mary is also known as Virgin Mary, the Holy Mother, Madonna, Blessed Mary. In the Orthodoxy and Catholicism she is the most respected female saint, and in the Islam she is one of the three perfect women.
According to the Gospel, she lived in Nazareth in the then province of Galilee. In Aramaic language, her name is pronounced as Miriam. According to the beliefs, she married Joseph and conceived Jesus miraculously, when Archangel Gabriel showed to her and told her that she was going to give birth of a son who will be the King of the kings. In all Gospels, Mary is mentioned as a mother of Jesus and her role in the Gospels is mainly in that direction.
